JVDex (OT Instrument Disinfectant)
Indication
- Sterilisation: JV Dex Activated Glutaraldehyde Solution is indicated for use as a sterilant when used or reused, according to the instructions for use for up to a maximum of 14 days at 25°C with an immersion time of at least 10 hours.
- High Level Disinfection: JV Dex Activated Glutaraldehyde Solution is indicated for use as a High Level Disinfection when used or reused, according to the instructions for use for up to a maximum of 14 days at 20°C with an immersion time of at least 20 hours.
Direction for Use
- Activation: Activate the JV Dex Solution by adding the entire contents of the activator vial which is attached to the JV Dex Solution container. Shake well when activated, the Colour of solution changes to green. Record the date of activation on the space provided in a log book or a label affixed to a secondary container used for the activated solution.
- Cleaning: Blood and other body fluids must be thoroughly cleaned from surfaces and lumens of devices before reprocessing. Thoroughly clean, rinse and rough dry devices before immersion in JV Dex Activated Glutaraldehyde Solution. Clean and rinse the lumens of hollow instructions before filling with JV Dex Activated Glutaraldehyde Solution. Please refer IFU for additional cleaning / decontamination instructions.
Usage
- Immerse cleaned medical instruments / equipment completely in JV Dex Activated Glutaradehyde Solution for the required time at the appropriate temperature. (See indications for use above.)
Reuse Period
- JV Dex Activated Glutaradehyde Solution can be reused for a maximum of 14 Days provided the required conditions of Glutaradehyde concentration, pH and temperature exists based upon monitoring described in the instructions for use. Do not rely soley on days in use. Test the activated solution prior to each use with JV Dex Solution Test Strips.
